CULTURAL ARTS OFFICES

The project sits on the site of 902 E Third St, Los Angeles, CA surrounded by popular destinations such as Hauser & Wirth and Salt & Straw. The structure is inspired by natural leaf growth on plants, a 137.5 degree rotation that maximizes sunlight between floors. The rotation creates double-height spaces that carry the shared/communal programs within the building. The facade is a system of fins contoured from a drip massing with drips to avoid spaces that warranted natural lighting such as double height shared spaces. The project intermingles public and private floors allowing for a casual mixture between art organization offices and the art public.
